In a small, quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of a big city, there lived a young man named Youssef. Youssef was a young man with big ambitions and dreams, but he faced many life challenges. He grew up in a poor family and lived a simple life despite the difficult circumstances. Youssef worked in a small car repair shop all day, struggling to collect a little money to help pay for his studies. But deep down, Youssef aspired to become something bigger than just a simple worker in a small workshop. He dreamed of becoming an engineer, but his dream was out of reach, as the tuition fees were beyond what he could afford, and it was difficult for him to find time to study amidst the busyness of work. Days passed and life became more difficult. One night, while Youssef was on his way home, he decided to pass through the old neighborhood to take a break in one of the small parks. While he was sitting on an old bench in the park, he felt something strange. There was an old woman sitting next to him, as if she was watching him with sharp eyes. The woman said in a low voice: “You have a dream inside you, don’t you?” Youssef was surprised at how she knew that. She answered him with a sad smile: “The dream is not only in words, but in every step we take.” Youssef felt curious and asked her: “Who are you?” The woman said: “I am a woman who lived a long life, I lived it the way I wanted, but in the end I discovered that the biggest mistake I made was that I was afraid to face challenges and gave up on my dream for reasons I do not remember now.” Youssef said in a calm voice: “But life is hard, how can we pursue our dreams while we are immersed in work?” The woman replied: “Circumstances will always be difficult, but the people who succeed are those who face these circumstances with determination. Life is not about waiting for things to be easy, but about continuing despite the difficulties.” These words stirred something in Youssef’s heart. He began to think about how much he let the little things steal his ambitions, and how he was always afraid to take bold steps towards his dream for fear of failure. The days passed and Youssef began to change his way of thinking. He decided to be more focused on his studies and to allocate time to study even if it was after long hours of work in the workshop. He started finding ways to make use of the time lost between work and study, and as the months passed he started to feel progress. But life as usual was not without challenges. One day, the owner of the workshop came and told him that work in the workshop would decrease due to the economic recession, and that there might not be enough money to pay the workers’ salaries. Youssef felt that his dream was slipping away from his hands, especially since he needed money to pay his tuition fees. But instead of giving up, Youssef decided to fight for his dream. He started looking for additional jobs and learning new skills that could help him earn additional income. He worked in the workshop in the morning, and worked at night in other places, and he never stopped studying. One day, while he was working in a small shop, he noticed an advertisement for a scholarship for outstanding students in the field of engineering. He was surprised, as this scholarship was a great opportunity for him. He applied for it and a week later he received news that he had been accepted. Youssef’s dream came true. Youssef learned a valuable lesson: Life is not about waiting for ideal circumstances, but rather about persistence and work despite all difficulties.
