Satan's fight against Adam, peace be upon him
The world of demons is far more ferocious against the descendants of Adam, constantly corrupting their morals and beliefs while sowing enmity and hatred among them to achieve its ultimate goal—domination over the earth. When Iblis deceived Adam (peace be upon him), Allah reprimanded Adam but also inspired him with words of repentance. Naturally, Iblis was enraged once more when Allah forgave Adam’s sin. However, Iblis did not forget his goal: to drive Adam and his descendants away from Allah’s mercy and seize control over the lower dominion of the earth. Failing to deceive Adam again, Iblis altered his strategy, seeking a weaker entry point. He found none more vulnerable than Adam’s sons, Cain and Abel. He lay in wait for them, whispering his dark thoughts and instigating discord between them. Jealousy, lust, and envy consumed Cain’s heart until he was completely overcome, and a great sedition was set in motion. Fueled by rage, Cain carried out the first murder in human history. Ibn Jurayj mentioned in his writings that when Cain sought to kill his brother, he had no prior knowledge of how to commit murder. Thus, Iblis appeared to him in the form of a bird, striking its head against a rock until it died. Cain, inspired by this, learned the method of killing. He then went to his brother and crushed Abel’s head between two stones, killing him. This crime marked the first awareness of murder among Adam’s descendants. It is said that even the mountain where the crime took place trembled in horror, splitting apart in grief. The site became known as **"Jabal Al-Dam" (The Mountain of Blood),** its terrain bearing witness to the atrocity. Some claim that the mountain still weeps, and droplets of water continue to trickle from it even after thousands of years. Others say that traces of Abel’s blood remain on the mountain to this day—Allah knows best. Adam (peace be upon him) grieved deeply over his son’s death, his heart nearly breaking from sorrow. Abel had been the apple of his eye. But Adam, having already learned of Iblis’ deceit, immediately recognized the true culprit. As Allah says in the Quran: **"This is from the work of Satan; indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."** (Al-Qasas: 15) With patience, Adam accepted the loss, returning to his life on earth as both a laborer who toiled for his sustenance and a prophet who guided his children and grandchildren. He taught them about Allah, warned them of Iblis, and recounted his own experience with the deceiver who had once deprived him of paradise. Upon failing for the third time, Iblis realized that deception alone would not suffice to destroy Adam’s lineage. He needed greater power, for he was weaker than them when alone. Thus, he gathered an army of jinn to expand his control and intensify his campaign against humanity. This renewed struggle began during the time of one of Adam’s descendants. Not long after Adam’s passing, his offspring had multiplied significantly. The jinn, seeing the rapid increase in human numbers, felt threatened, believing that mankind was now a competitor for dominion over the earth.
The jinn grew weaker, and as a result, they began to manifest visibly before humans. Iblis gathered his forces and prepared for a decisive battle against mankind. Encouraged by their victory over the ancient races of Ḥinn and Binn, the jinn grew bolder, believing themselves capable of confronting humanity. In this crucial time, a great and powerful man emerged from the descendants of Adam. Historical records mention his name as Mahlā’īl ibn Qīnān ibn Anūsh ibn Shīth ibn Ādam (peace be upon him). He resolved to lead humanity in a decisive war against the jinn. Iblis, in response, attempted once again to corrupt mankind, aided by the demonic jinn, the rebellious Mārid, and the terrifying Ghūl, aiming to expand his dominion and seize control of life on earth. According to historical texts, Iblis once ruled over the seven regions of the earth and was the first to establish great cities and fortified strongholds. Recognizing the growing threat of these dark forces, Mahlā’īl took action. He built cities to safeguard humanity, especially after demons and rebellious spirits began appearing openly before humans. He also established the strongest human army ever assembled to prepare for a great war against the jinn, should they attempt to seize control of the earth. When Iblis and his forces launched their attack, Mahlā’īl’s army met them in battle, inflicting heavy losses upon the demon horde. The forces of Iblis were defeated and forced into retreat. One of the most significant outcomes of this war was the complete eradication of the Ghūl. Realizing that an open war against humanity was impossible, Iblis understood that hidden battles would be far more effective and dangerous. He knew that to achieve his ultimate goal—reclaiming dominion over the earth—he had to rebuild his power after suffering such a crushing defeat at the hands of Mahlā’īl. Thus, Iblis regathered his scattered forces, rebuilt his throne, and formed a vast network of soldiers and spies. He established a shadow empire, a dark kingdom from which he could work toward reclaiming his lost dominion and enslaving humanity like cattle. With the rise of Iblis’ kingdom, his war against Adam’s descendants resumed. Throughout the ages, this struggle has never ceased. The same schemes of deception and manipulation continue to unfold. If one studies the history of past civilizations, they will notice an unmistakable pattern: the same events, tactics, and objectives repeating throughout time. But let me ask you this: Who truly holds power over this world? Who commands events, instigates wars and conflicts, and who fights to extinguish their flames? To truly grasp the hidden realities, one must understand a profound truth that many overlook: the dual kingdoms of the earth. Allah has decreed that two opposing kingdoms shall govern the earth, each with its own power. When one kingdom grows stronger, the other weakens. These are: The Kingdom of Light The Kingdom of Darkness Allah granted dominion to the Kingdom of Light, endowing it with clarity and immense influence. The Kingdom of Darkness, in contrast, was made obscure and deceptive, misleading those who enter it and rendering them weak. Every being on earth has the freedom to choose: to align with the Kingdom of Light or the Kingdom of Darkness—there is no third option. Naturally, Iblis and his followers pledged allegiance to the Kingdom of Darkness, while the prophets and righteous servants of Allah lead the Kingdom of Light. Throughout history, whenever mankind strayed into darkness, following corruption and deception, Allah would send a prophet with a divine revelation to restore humanity’s lost dominion and reclaim its rightful authority over the earth. If mankind follows the path of the prophets and upholds the divine laws given to them, the Kingdom of Light will thrive, ensuring justice and guidance. However, the moment humanity abandons this divine light, blindness overtakes them, and they willingly submit to the rule of the Kingdom of Darkness. This is why the forces of darkness have always sought to prevent the prophets from fulfilling their mission. When messengers were sent to reestablish Allah’s kingdom on earth, the devils would spy on divine revelation, eavesdropping to distort and corrupt the message before it could reach the people. The Prophet Daniel (peace be upon him) recorded in his scriptures that when Allah sent him to restore righteousness in Jerusalem, the demons fought fiercely to prevent the angelic messenger from delivering the divine message. He described a great war in the heavens between angels and jinn, as demonic forces sought to block the revelation or intercept its knowledge to gain further dominion over mankind. This mirrors what happened with Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as Allah states in the Quran: "Except for one whom He has approved as a messenger, and He sends before him and behind him a guard." (Surah Al-Jinn: 27) This verse applies to both human and angelic messengers, affirming that Allah appoints divine guardians to protect them from Satan’s interference. Any revelation sent down is protected, just as the heavens themselves are guarded by shooting stars that strike down eavesdropping devils. The Nature of Demons and Their Role in the Struggle It is important to understand that demons are conscious beings with souls, much like humans. Their nature is strikingly similar to the lower self of mankind, sharing common traits such as: Desire for pleasure and indulgence Craving for fame and dominance Love for power and wealth As creatures of the darkness, demons possess intelligence, awareness, and an organized structure, all of which are directed by their leader, Iblis. He controls them, commands them, and studies mankind with deep insight into human weaknesses. Moreover, Iblis holds vast knowledge of the earth’s hidden treasures and resources, which he uses to tempt and manipulate those who seek worldly power. And so, the battle continues
It is also interpreted in what was narrated about our master Jesus, peace be upon him, when he returned from Jordan, filled with the Holy Spirit for forty days. Then Iblis came to him, took him to a high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited world in a moment of time. Iblis said to him, "I will give you all this authority and its glory, for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I will. If you bow down before me, it will all be yours." Jesus, peace be upon him, answered him, saying, "Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.’" Iblis knew that the way in which the messengers would bring forth the Kingdom of God—which he had corrupted—and destroy his dominion would be through nullifying the works of Satan, liberating the people of this era, and bringing them out of darkness into the light. This is why Iblis came to offer Jesus a shortcut, telling him that since the kingdoms of the world were now under his dark rule, if Jesus only bowed to him, he would give them back to him, thus restoring the kingdoms of the world to the messengers. However, even then, Satan would still remain in control, and the world would still be captive to him. This indicates that there is no doubt that they have devised ways to humiliate and rule over humans, manipulating minds by making everything that opposes the laws of the earth appear alluring and tempting. But this raises an important question: is every unjust kingdom on earth inherently dark and satanic? We found a passage in the Book of Daniel that mentions the existence of a material earthly kingdom called the Kingdom of Persia, ruled by a human king. However, alongside this kingdom, there was another hidden spiritual kingdom from the offspring of Iblis, also called Persia. The Prophet Daniel stated that he encountered resistance from a demon called the "Prince of the Kingdom of Persia" until an angel came to fight against him. This demonic entity ruled directly above that earthly kingdom but belonged to the Kingdom of Darkness, as it was controlled by an evil spirit that dominated the earthly Kingdom of Persia. This spirit knew all that was happening and all that was intended within that kingdom. If this testimony is true, it indicates that all evil established on earth has a dark spiritual origin. This suggests that the controlling force in a given region on earth operates through human agents who are subjugated to it, holding their reins like livestock. This means that every kingdom of darkness or light that has formed on earth does not originate from the earthly realm but rather stems from influences and inspirations from another hidden world—one that belongs either to the spirits of demons or angels. Furthermore, this hidden world is the battleground where angels and demons engage in fierce spiritual warfare over the fate of human souls and nations. Demons resist the angels and attempt to prevent them from carrying out God's commands. But in vain—for demons are far weaker than the angels' strength. Our spirits do not wish for God's message to reach humanity, for Iblis and his soldiers do not want God's will to be known on earth. Thus, Iblis has blinded people's minds to prevent them from seeing the truth. This is why God sent the prophets repeatedly, calling upon the world to bring the lost out of darkness into the light. Yet, Satan exerted his utmost effort to keep the prophets from their mission of restoring the rule of the Kingdom of Light, freeing the captives enslaved by Satan, and preserving the source of divine illumination, which lies in following God's word and laws. But what events followed these struggles? And who was the individual with whom Satan allied to strengthen his kingdom—an alliance that all the prophets and messengers throughout history have warned against?
